* September 5: Visit to Carpineto Romano (Italy), the birthplace of Pope Leo XIII
* September 16-19: U.K. Visit
* October 3: Visit to Palermo (Italy)
* October 10-24: Synod of Bishops on the Middle East, opened by Pope Benedict
* November 6-7: Trip to Santiago de Compostela & Barcelona (Spain)
In addition, a consistory may be held but "most Vatican-watchers" predict this will not occur until 2011.
