Pope Benedict calls on Iraqi government to stop the killings

Pope Benedict XVI has called on the Iraqi government to put a stop to the recent "killing spree" in the Muslim-majority city of Mosul which has claimed the lives of at least eight people. Pope Benedict expressed "deep sadness" over the religiously motivated killings of non-Muslims.

Commentary: Can't help but notice that this report comes about 10 days after Cardinal Tauran said that "We must not fear Islam"
